[William E Sabin; Edgar O Schoenike; Rockwell International.;] -- The book reviews developments in the following areas: single sideband; system design considerations; high-frequency link establishment; receiver design; exciter design; transceiver design; IF .

Of Morgan’s quartet of Radio and Electronics books, the third provides the best all-around coverage of radio and electrical fundamentals together with the usual collection of projects beginning, naturally, with the crystal receiver set then extending to tube receivers, transistor sets, a powerful transistorized public address system, home. The current is then amplified in a radio receiver until it is strong enough to measure or record. Like your television or radio, receivers can be tuned to select a single frequency (channel). In astronomy, however, it is more common to use sophisticated data-processing techniques that allow thousands of separate frequency bands to be detected.

This book contains tons of practical information on receiver design. While it has a good amount of theory, what makes the book unique is that it has a lot of applied information based on the authors experiences.

Once you've learned the theory (from Pozar maybe) this books will reinforce the concepts and help you apply by: W Digital Bluetooth AM/FM Receiver - Power Amplifier Stereo Receiver w/ Radio Tuner, RCA, AUX for iPod, MP3, CD DVD Player, 2 MIC Input w/ Echo for Karaoke, Home Audio Entertainment - Pyle PTBT out of 5 stars   On the other hand, the book has good information on basic radio theory, which would be great for the beginner.

A better title would have been "The New Radio Receiver Theory Handbook". Get this book if you know nothing about radio receivers and would like to learn, but look elsewhere if you're thirsty for serious radio projects to build/5(16).

If you want to dabble in radio communication I think it is best to start by making something simple that works.

You will get a ‘feel’ for the field that a text book will not provide. I suggest that you look at what is available from the ham radio.
